Position Overview

Do your organization and management skills resemble a conductor orchestrating a symphony? We serve more than 1.2 million customers across British Columbia, and have established an industry leading commitment called 30BY30 to reduce our customer’s emissions by 30 per cent by 2030. One of our Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facilities, Tilbury, will play a key role in achieving this goal, and so will you as a Project Manager at our Tilbury plant. 

Joining our Project Management Office (PMO), our next Project Manager will execute sustainment projects at our Tilbury LNG plant, including managing detailed design, procurement, contracting, construction and closeout processes. 

We know you’re a natural at building relationships, and will work alongside external and internal project team members to execute projects with ease. But you don’t stop there, because you go beyond meeting deadlines and project objectives to challenge current practices and establish more streamlined processes.

In this role, you will:

  • Work within budgets and deadlines to deliver projects on time.
  • Challenge the status quo and look for better ways to improve processes.
  • Identify and communicate any changes to your partners including unforeseen changes to the project.
  • Co-ordinate and assign resources to positively impact projects.

In year 1, you will:

  • Learn our procedure and policies. 
  • Put your expertise and knowledge to work on projects.
  • Champion and promote the importance of safety.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Schedule and organize resources appropriately.

In year 2, you will:

  • Work with LNG operations to develop systems in the plant.
  • Build on your knowledge gained during a project cycle.
  • Identify and champion continuous improvements in how the PMO does business.
  • Build highly effective teams.

What it takes:

  • An engineering degree and P.Eng. or a diploma of technology and ASTTBC, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Field construction experience.
  • Plant operations experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management processes and permitting.
  • Knowledge of contract negotiations and resource planning.
  • Amazing organizational, time management, budgeting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate openly with peers and present details in a timely and concise manner.

What you need to know:

  • This position will be primarily located at our Tilbury LNG Plant in Delta, BC.
