Program Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Accountable for the day-to-day execution of all assigned project activities, the Program Manager works closely with software engineers, data scientists, hardware engineers, product management, and the test team to deliver high quality products and services on time and on budget.

A typical day includes:

  • Lead communications between internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of customer contracts and key product developments
  • Drive project requirements, manage project scope and facilitate baseline change management processes
  • Develop and manage work breakdown structures, project schedules, and project budgets
  • Ensure compliance on processes, procedures and work with the Quality Assurance department to evolve existing processes as required
  • Manage, communicate and escalate project risks
  • Influence project team members without having any hierarchical authority through effective listening, understanding, prioritizing, and working towards common goals
  • Challenge Engineering and Production functional leaders on technical recommendations, delivery schedules and costs to maximize value for the business on each project
  • Work with third party vendors to complete projects as required
  • Ensure accurate inputs are submitted on commercial tender submissions
  • Provide technical sales support and act as a key point of contact to customers on complex installations
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the industry, competitive landscape and future market directions
  • Other duties may be assigned as required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Proven technical leadership abilities
  • Superior conflict resolution skills, with the ability to relate professionally to all stakeholders
  • Possess key interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees, vendors, and customers
  • Effectively manage and report project progress, goals, costs, and schedules
  • Ability to successfully pivot in a constantly changing environment
  • Make effective decisions in the execution of assigned projects
  • Possess a strong commitment to the team concept

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree qualified or equivalent with a formal engineering or business qualification preferred
  • Directly related experience, preferably in the Aerospace sector
  • Formal project management training and experience, PMI designation preferred
