Deputy Chief Project Officer

We're looking for an accomplished Project Officer to lead the Cowichan District Hospital Project. Join the Island Health Team today and make a difference!

As a key member in the Alliance framework partnership, the Deputy Chief Project Officer (DCPO) is accountable to lead the Replacement Project's operational team in concert with the Chief Project Officer, in the development of tactical planning and supporting governance and performance accountabilities. The Alliance framework is a progressive design-build infrastructure delivery model between Island Health and other external participants, where all parties work as an integrated "virtual" team throughout the Project. All parties in the Alliance share and jointly manage risks and opportunities through collective responsibility, with performance and cost targets developed and agreed to by all parties during the project development phase.

The DCPO is accountable to provide day-to-day oversight, direction and management related to the planning, design, construction, and equipment of the new CDH hospital; provides advice, consult and support to the Chief Project Officer on a range of Project Agreement related areas/issues; and provides recommendations and support in governance and stakeholder communications.

This role requires a high degree of collaboration and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
